“Onboarding matters,” writes Dr. Talya Bauer in “Onboarding: The Critical Role of Hiring Managers,” a white paper for SuccessFactors. It seems like an obvious enough statement: successfully bringing new employees into an organization is crucial for any company’s continued success. Indeed, the Boston Consulting Group found that companies with well-managed onboarding processes have 2.5 times the profit growth and 1.9 times the profit margin of companies that do not formally orchestrate the onboarding process.
